Semantic results are organized by category.

Semantic search engine hakia has launched a new search experience today. The results now return different sections of results, according to type. Currently, you have Web, Credible Sources, PubMed, News, Blogs, Images and Video. Next week, Wikipedia and Twitter will be added to the mix.

Each of the sections can be minimized and maximized depending on the searcher’s preference.

To check out the new hakia search, I typed in a query for “Endeavor,” the NASA space shuttle currently on a mission at the International Space Station.

When you query Google, you’ll notice suggestions appear to assist you in your search. They appear as a list in a drop down menu. This feature is known as Google Suggest and became default on the homepage in August 2008. Now, that menu is getting additional, universal features.

Let’s say you’re wondering what the capital of a country is. As you’re typing, the answer may appear directly in the Suggest menu:

Also, you might want to check the weather. So you search and a forecast appears in Google Suggest:

Google is rolling out a new format for displaying images in universal results when they appear in the main search. The new format shows one image larger than the rest. This will only happen when Google is feeling confident that they have the right image.

Here’s a sample, per the Official Google Blog:
