Yes, it’s true, your baby is damn ugly (as Tim Ash would point out). It’s tough to come to that realization for many webmasters, but it’s harder for most to accept that despite how broken your website is, there are several Google-owned and operated websites that are probably just as broken. Not to worry, because Google also does their best to love you and your ugly baby by offering Google Webmaster Tools to you for free (or, at no cost to you)….

Give credit where credit is due, Jeffrey Hayzlett rocked the house yet again at SES Chicago today. Was it due to his overly energetic delivery, or his curse words, or maybe his cleverly inserted punch lines? Perhaps, but below the surface of all that showmanship was a genuine message that resonated amongst agency and brand marketers alike….

That was the question posed just now by Eddie Choi from the SES Advisory Board & Managing Director, Frontiers Digital at SES here in Hong Kong. During the keynote panel, Increasing ROI through B2B Lead Generation, myself, Matthias Baur, Corporate e-Business Development Director at Reed Exhibitions and Peter Zapf, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Global Sources set out to answer it with a most emphatic no! There’s been a lot of talk about whether web marketing, especially social media, holds value for B2B lead generation efforts, and the session was set up to give the assembled throng, here at the…

I’m afraid this will be my last blog entry at SES San Francisco, but it’s been a blast. I don’t know how you’re feeling right now, but I’m knackered. Luckily we can end on a high with a fix of Augmented Reality. Gene Becker (Lightning Laboratories) is moderating this session, with speakers: Howard Ogden (Augment Reality), Lisa Murphy (metaio), Michael Liebhold (Institute for the Future), Mathijs Gajentaan (Winvolve), and Jay Wright (Qualcomm)….

We are almost at the finish line, but there are still a few more sessions to go so hang in there with me. Next up we have Trackur’s Andy Beal (Trackur) going solo….

We are almost at the finish line, but there are still a few more sessions to go so hang in there with me. Next up we have Trackur’s Andy Beal (Trackur) going solo. I follow Andy on Twitter. Andy is the Indiana Jones of reputation management. He also has great teeth and quite possibly, the best accent ever (he’s originally from England, and now lives in North Carolina). Tip of the day from Andy is to focus on using reputation management techniques now rather than wait for a crisis to hit. 5 Keys to Search Engine Reputation Management (SERM) 1….

Everyone needs a good tool. So are you ready to hear about the latest and greatest? Me too. I actually changed sessions to be here today after Alex sold me on his toolbox at Schmoozefest yesterday. Anyway, we have Simon Heseltine (AOL Inc.) moderating an All-Star line up: Dave Snyder (Blueglass), David Szetela (Clix Marketing), Mark Jackson (VIZION Interactive), Alex Cohen (ClickEquations), and Ariel Bardin (Google)….

Good morning peeps. Can you believe we’ve reached the final day of SES? That’s nuts! But here we are on Day 3. It’s my last day guest blogging for Search Engine Watch and I would kill for a good hand masseuse right about now. So, PPC or SEO? This has to be a loaded question, right? Still, everyone likes a good fight. Mark Jackson (Vizion Interactive) is the moderator come referee, with fighters Rand Fishkin (SEOmoz), Melanie Mitchell (Digitas), Thomas Bindl (Refined Labs GmbH), and Benu Aggarwal (Milestone Internet Marketing) taking up their corners….

We’re approaching the end of Day 2 here at SES San Francisco, and it’s almost time to don your hat for tonight’s Black Hat, White Hat event. But hold your horses — we’ve got one more session to go. Bryan Eisenberg is back to moderate speakers: Nitin Mangtani (Google), Noran El-Shinnawy (Acquisio), Lee Cohen (Become, Inc), and John Federman (Searchandise Commerce)….

Twitter and automation, eh? Hmmm… Sounds like milk and orange juice to me. Lovely Matt McGowan will be moderating speakers, Tracy Falke (Freestyle Interactive), Paul Madden (Crea8 New Media), and Jeff Pulver….
