Incisive Media’s ClickZ Launches “Connected Marketing Week” in San Francisco, August 16-20, 2010

Incisive Media’s is launching “Connected Marketing Week” on August 16-20, 2010 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

The first of its kind, Connected Marketing Week will be the biggest gathering of interactive marketing events aiming to educate marketers on every aspect of the digital industry. Participating events include SES San Francisco, Online Marketing Summit (OMS), Jeff Pulver’s 140 Characters Conference, Email Experience Council, the IAB’s ad exchange day, and Tim Ash’s Conversion Conference.

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom has welcomed the innovative festival, wishing it “all the best for a productive and rewarding event. San Francisco is more than a place, it’s an idea – an idea that innovation is essential for a better world.”

More than 8000 attendees are expected to attend more than 200 sessions. As my mother would say, this is bigger than a bread box.

If all this seems new, it is. But the web is no longer just a huge collection of HTML pages linked together. It’s evolving into a network of people, who are constantly connecting, communicating and sharing. The way people interact both with each other and information has also fundamentally changed.

Success in marketing today now requires an advanced understanding of how consumers and audiences are connecting, sharing their passions and influencing others. That’s why ClickZ is leveraging its insight and expertise in the digital industry to launch the first ever Connected Marketing festival, bringing a community of organizations and events together fostering professional development, and greater technical insight into this developing field.

“With ClickZ’s Connected Marketing Week, we’re launching a new vision of marketing – one that incorporates not just search but the reality that a successful marketing program has to incorporate an understanding of just how audiences are connecting and sharing vital information,” says Grehan. “We’ve lined up the top organizations in the marketing industry to present, share and mingle with marketers during our festival.”

I should disclose that SES is a client of my agency. But trust me on the bread box.
